Congrats@@ Looking forward to anything and everything you want to share.
I too have difficulty getting started; even some days now accomplishing basic tasks. Last Thursday I woke up knowing I must accomplish a few to do items; finished putting taxes together, turned them into Tax Person. Voted and deposited ballot downtown. Called appliance repair person to look at small leak under washer that I have been contemplating for over a month. Registered for upcoming 2 balance classes at local rec center. Makes no sense why the need to procrastinate for this list!!
I'm glad that you will be including some articles about feminism. There is so much misunderstanding of what that means now. I'm one of the original feminists from the 1960s and Gloria Steinhem is my heroine. The women's movement changed my life!
Oh, I know. I hope to write some stuff on feminism as we go along. I agree about the misunderstanding. I've always loved Gloria Steinem too. I feel like the women's movement has been taken for granted somewhat of late and look where that's getting us. Thank you so much for reading and commenting too. Look forward to more of your thoughts.
You did it!!! Congratulations! Getting started is so difficult. I'm right there with you. I find we are our own worse critic. Write what you enjoy and I'm sure you'll be successful! :)
Starting can be challenging for procrastinators like myself. And yes, we are often our own worst critic for sure. Thank you for the good wishes, reading, and commenting too. Great to connect with you on this platform.
Congrats, Nancy!! My personal to-do list is not long, but having a hard time starting. These things are important so I need to find a way and gain my confidence back. I agree that we are very hard on ourselves. We shouldn't be because life is already hard enough. Interesting enough, I have been thinking about this topic but in reference to life and death and in a slightly different way (even during those final moments, we struggle with self judgement - regrets and things that weren't done, etc.). Why be so hard on ourselves?
I don't why we are so hard on ourselves. And you're so right that we shouldn't be because life is hard enough - so why make it even harder with self-doubt, self-criticism and judgement. Maybe it's just human nature. Thank you for checking out my new writing space, reading my fist article, and commenting, too. It means a lot. Hope all is well with you.
I’m with you, Nancy! Yes it does take courage to start something new, but you’ve been at this a long time with success, so I have confidence in your success here. I’ll be reading and commenting! By the way is that picture from the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale AZ? It looks exactly like the area where I used to run up Thompson Peak and the nearby trails when I lived in Fountain Hills, a long time ago!
I appreciate your encouragement and support very much. And yes, that photo is the McDowell Mts in Scottsdale. We've visited a few times during winter and love that area. Didn't make it this year, but winter has been so mild here - it's weird. Thank you so much for reading my first article and commenting too.
Welcome, my fellow Substacker! (I'm not sure if that's a real word.) Anyway, it's good to see you on this space. Starting is difficult, as you say, but think of it as a new adventure. I'm looking forward to the variety of topics that you plan to write about. They seem very thought-provoking. Looking forward to receiving your posts.
Now that I finally started and pushed that publish button, it feels good to be here. You and Alene inspired me! In my next post, I'll share more about my plans for this space. I do think of it as a new adventure. Thank you for reading, commenting, and always supporting my writing so kindly.
Please take my name off my post. I realize you don’t want complaints about bc. Sorry I wrote that but I’m so sad etc. 6 years without being able to get out of this thinking. Thanks nancy
No apology necessary. You are free to say what you like, but I am unable to edit your comments here, as far as I know anyway. I can remove any if you want me to do that. Thanks.

Hi Chris,
Well, at least you got those things done! That's a lot accomplished, I's say! Always love hearing from my fellow procrastinators. Thanks for sharing.

If you haven't read her book "My Life on the Road" I highly recommend it.
I'll have to add it to my to-read list.
